When he was alive, Steve changed the game industry starting with Atari. Steve destroyed manufacturing and design paradigms. He insisted that technology accommodate his vision when every other company including SONY, IBM, etc all created designs to fit within the limitations of technology.

This is why Apple's only releases one product every year or two when everybody else releases new versions every 3 months.

But Steve's biggest impact on society has only now begun to sprout above ground. It's so tiny and sublime, even the most advanced programmers and publishers don't know anything about it. It's called EPub3. And the irony of this world changer is that Steve didn't create it. He enabled the world to create it for him.

Imagine a world where backpacks didn't exist and where 400 page chemistry books were devoured by kids the way they devour video games. This is what the iPad, iBooks, iBooks Author, and Steve created...
