Serendipity. How Your Life Can Flourish In Just One Moment. An Interview With @GlobalPatriot #Passion #Purpose #Inspiration #Dao

while you say you are "local to San Diego..." Calling you a "man about town" would require defining TOWN as everything between Sweden and South America!!!
4:20 PM @journik: GP!???
 markllovett: I'm here
 @journik: GREAT!
4:21 PM My Chat with @jorgeavilam was reallly inspiring... for a Mexican National to start a successful business in America...HE REALLY APPRECIATES THE USA!
 markllovett: What's his business?
4:22 PM @journik: He is a fast growing business data / computer consulting firm
markllovett: Excellent, is he in the LA area?
4:23 PM @journik: he does several cities... including LA... he was just in LA a week or so ago...
Do you have operations in LA too?????
markllovett: I'm local to San Diego, but travel to LA from time to time for meetings.
4:24 PM @journik: Ahhh.. well... please do contact him and support him! He seems highly ethical and committed to excellence
  He's at @jorgeavilam
4:25 PM He DOES know his stuff when it comes to Networks, databases, enterprise solutions

markllovett: I started following @jorgeavilam today.
I wrote some blog posts about Doctors Without Borders, then connected with Danny Brown and his 12for12k.org campaign. We put our heads together and...

@journik: Excellent! ... and ... WELCOME to the @Journik SHOW!!!
4:26 PM markllovett: I'm honored to be on the @Journik show!
@journik: I know that while you say you are "local to San Diego..." Calling you a "man about town" would require defining TOWN as everything between Sweden and South America!!!
4:27 PM I'd love to expose what you do the my readers...
  So why all the traveling??!?!
4:28 PM markllovett: I wrote some blog posts about Doctors Without Borders, then connected with Danny Brown and his 12for12k.org campaign. We put our heads together and decided to raise funds for DWB.
4:29 PM I started with the idea of putting on one event in San Diego, but ended up hosting three music events - San Diego, Stockholm and London.
@journik: Hah! WOW! and of all the NPO and causes out there... why Doctors Without Borders for You Personally???
of all the NPO and causes out there... why Doctors Without Borders for You Personally???
4:30 PM What about it called out to you?
4:31 PM markllovett: They have a program called Refugee Camp In The Heart Of The City, and they brought it to San Diego. It's a mock up of what it's like to live in a refugee camp - it really opened my eyes to what is happening in the world - people who are displaced due to violence.
4:32 PM @journik: WOW!
  wow...
well... THAT makes me even more curious...
before we go into details... what made you want to attend that "Refuge Camp" program???
Can't say why it struck me so strongly, but I knew in that moment that I had to go
4:34 PM markllovett: I was driving down the road and there was a news mention of it on the radio. Can't say why it struck me so strongly, but I knew in that moment that I had to go see it.
 @journik: ahhh....
4:35 PM a few days ago...I was interviewing @zenmommy and @riasharon .. they couldnt stop talking about serendipity...
4:36 PM and just being open to opportunity ... So... can you fill us in on the history of the @GlobalPatriot activities... the victories... the trials...
Life is 99% serendipity, or fate, or karma, or whatever
4:37 PM markllovett: Life is 99% serendipity, or fate, or karma, or whatever you want to call it, but the more you tune into it, the more it happens. Some days it's like a tidal wave of perfection.
 @journik: HAHAHAAAAA
(i know... that last line was unprofessional o_O )
  Tidal Wave of Perfection!!!
4:38 PM markllovett: Global Patriot was born out of a book I wrote years ago in which the hero had to choose between country and planet. I knew that at some point I would devote time to exploring the idea that we should be devoted to the health and well-being of the entire planet.
4:39 PM @journik: WOW! fascinating concept!
4:40 PM It IS much easier to make your nearby neighbors FRIENDS and leave the rest further away as they willl....
  BUT
Being an asset to EVERYBODY!!!... wow.
4:41 PM markllovett: Once upon a time, we could sit in our own space and not effect the world. That's no longer the case. It's become so evident that we're all connected, and everything we do affects others on the planet.
 @journik: True. Times Ten....
So in the interests of giving our readers some inspiration... strategy... how DO you get soooooo many people to back your vision and support the GlobalPatriot events...
4:42 PM I know many people who want to start their own cause... help... contribute... or even just start a business so they don't have to sit under florescent lights and get yelled at... In either case... they need to bring people... or customers into their sphere... how do YOU do that?
4:43 PM Last GP (@globalpatriot) event I was at... everyone had to be forcibly ejected because we were having such a good time getting to know each other...
4:44 PM markllovett: When I say "Global Patriot", they ask what it means, and when I answer, "Patriotism Without Borders" they are on board in an instant - they understand the message - they get it, and it resonates with them. So if you want to attract people to your cause, or mission or business, give them a compelling reason to join your team.
 @journik: Ah...
4:45 PM Then what is the scope of the Global Patriot mission???
  What if
4:46 PM one of our readers are more interested in one cause vs another... how much does the GP umbrella cover..
  ?
4:48 PM markllovett: From my Twitter profile, "Supporting the idea of Patriotism Without Borders. Social Justice, Sustainability, Global Consciousness and Ending Poverty and Hunger." Which is a lot of territory to cover, but it's all connected. So if you want to focus on just one topic, do so with the understanding that solutions are complex and need to take many factors into account.
4:49 PM @journik: I noticed in your blog... http://globalpatriot.com/ ... you deal with food issues: Michael Pollan... World Wilderness Congress (WWC) ...
and THAT is what I personally feel passionately about... a holistic solution to what appears to be isolated issues...
via: http://www.ee.usyd.edu.au/~guoqiang/Personal/photo.htm
Holistic is the key word - if they are burning down rain forest so that they can produce beef that goes into fast food and causes us health problems
4:50 PM markllovett: Holistic is the key word - if they are burning down rain forest so that they can produce beef that goes into fast food and causes us health problems - you can end up with situations that are negative in multiple respects.
4:51 PM @journik: Ok then... you obviously... to everyone who's even met you briefly... live a broad scope life... from your fine wine collection... to your world traveling Charitable efforts... while maybe not everyone's dream life...
What can you tell our readers about how to pursue and LIVE their own version of that "dream life???"
4:54 PM markllovett: I don't think of it in terms of a dream life, but rather pursuing passion. Seek that which speaks to you, drives you, "Follow Your Bliss", though at times it's hard, confusing, frustrating, there is a reason for everything and even the pain is part of the journey.
4:55 PM @journik: Ahhh... instead of being pulled by some external vision: "dream life"... pursue your core internal passion...
4:56 PM I like the message GP!
4:57 PM markllovett: Exactly, your internal voice knows more than you give it credit for.
I don't think of it in terms of a dream life, but rather pursuing passion. Seek that which speaks to you, drives you,
@journik: So.. "how can we help you???" I know ... just meeting you the first time.. I walked away with a great deal of insight... (that first sentence here... I learned from GP... Mark Lovett)
What can our readers do that benefits themselves, the global community.. and the Global Patriot Mission?
5:00 PM markllovett: The one thing I ask of everyone is to embrace the planet...we're all in this together, dealing with hunger, poverty and climate change...and the solutions will require participation of everyone. If you want to read my blog, or follow me on Twitter, that's very cool, but the real answer lies in the decisions we make on a daily basis.
 @journik: Indeed. Indeed.
5:01 PM I personally get a key perspective into the issue around the world when I read your blog... http://globalpatriot.com/
Well... GP... In Korean... I'd close by saying... "tuhk won im ni dah!" "It has been an honor."
5:02 PM Would you be willing to reopen another interview when you launch your next event???
5:03 PM markllovett: Likewise, as you are focused on expanding everyone's consciousness, and that is the starting point to greatness!
And I'm open to an interview at any time...many things brewing for 2010!
5:04 PM @journik: Excited! Thank You very much for joining us on the @journik show! ... everyone.. you can get to know Mr. Mark Lovett (man about town - in a big way) at http://twitter.com/GlobalPatriot !!!
Thanks GP! see you on twitter!
5:05 PM markllovett: It was my pleasure!
 @journik: OH.. ps... pictures please???

My Secret Secret to How I Can Blog So Friggin Much

@nwcptr4me of something totally hard to remember asked me the jist of (what the hell is a "jist" anyways? Some sort of verb in the past tense?!) the title. It's really simple. The benefits are obvious. Instead of paying some other blogger or site to advertise, I can advertise on my friggin own blog and get ten times as many customers free.

You do realize that people who read your stuff are ATLEAST 10x's more likely to buy your stuff. Think about it. I only buy from people I know. When's the last time you bought a car or even a book from someone you knew nothing about?

So, I've got about 1,000 youtube videos and 2,000 blog posts. How do I do it?

Anger, NOT LOVE is the greatest motivator

This is the secret: I read blogs written by idiots. Every day, they piss me off (No, I'm not referring to @mashable. I actually think they are a load of smarties). And we all know that anger is the greatest motivator. Think about it. You think LOVE <3 is the greatest motivator. Gimme a break! How many people were you madly in love with but never said anything?!?!?

How many people slightly annoyed you that you just went off on?

So, I read idiocy for inspiration.

Now, here's the secret secret... see top half

Why People Just Don't Do What You Want Them To

when you start a romantic campaign, understand the key driver for each party concerned

Short Answer: You are sinning.

Explanation to short answer. "Sin," is not a religious term. It originally comes from warfare, specifically, archery. It means "to miss the bullseye," or "to miss the mark." Look it up. This is how the whole of the Middle East and Asia used the term.

Longer Short Answer: If you've ever tried to pick up a ripe pineapple by the frawns, you'll realize that if you dont grab the right ones, they pop off and you drop the pineapple.

If you chat up a man who wants to build a family and pull on his libido, you'll get him in bed but he will leave like that pineapple.

If you converse about the beauty of children to a woman who just wants sex, you get nothing.

If you advertise Amazon's Kindle DX by saying,

"Now you can fit an entire school district's worth of backpacks of books in one Kindle, The New DX!" your marketing ROI is #FAIL

If you advertise Amazon's Kindle DX by saying,

"All your favorite titles for 50% off! Introducing the New Amazon Kindle DX!" you also get marketing #FAIL

Why? To you, from an objective point of view, with your wallet securely stuffed in your pocket, both seem like compelling reasons to get a new Amazon DX. Cheap reading and no lugging.

But to a person who actually really loves reading, to a person who actually prefers to snuggle up under low lights with a book instead of a HD TV, cost and footprint are fringe benefits. Kinda like meeting the man or woman of your dreams and finding out that he/she has six pack abs that you can actually do laundry on.

The above two marketing strategies are complete sins. They missed the bulls eye. Your pineapple will plummet from your grasp. Seriously. Imagine that that sexy beast lifted his/her shirt and said, "See, me got six pack. Let's do this!"

The real reason people love Kindle is because of it's immediacy. Book readers can't wait to get lost inside the imagination of a brilliant author. It's like a heroine fix (or so i'm told).

Book lovers need that fix so badly, they are willing to spend time, mileage, gas, risk an auto collision and drive to a bookstore till 10pm to sit on couches that dozens of people a day fart into for the sake of immediacy.

When you start a business, when you start a marketing campaign, when you start a romantic campaign, understand the key driver for each party concerned. Otherwise...

How to Dominate, Influence, and Control People. OR know if you're being dominated, influenced, and controlled o_O

Also see: how to build an army

Let's all, here and now, face it. Who needs friends anyways. They drag you away from your labors of love, they get you to drink love handle inflating beer, then borrow money from you to pay for it. What you really want is to just plain influence people.

And when it comes to influencing people, atleast online (without breasts), I'm one of the masters. Last I recall, I've amassed over 16,000,000 Youtube views and over 25,000 subscribers. I'd show you a screenshot but this FRACKIN STARBUCKS is bandwidth limiting video content so I cant even logon to YT! GRR! One of my videos got half a million views before I had to remove it.

Why I physically removed my most successful video is precisely the point of "How to influence people."

You see, After serving over 16 million nutritious content meals to all 24 time zones on earth, I could only get about ten of them to join http://journik.com and give back to the community.

How I finally got over 1,000 users to join http://journik.com and fill out their long and value rendering profile required several key understandings of the human being.

1. Homosapiens are not driven by desire, passion, or reason. They are primarily driven by fear.

So, I made an announcement to my 16,000 YM Youtube subscribers saying that http://journik.com would be closed to the public in less than 24 hours. Yep, the video went viral. Members emailed, forwarded, blogged, and sms'd that video.

fueled his drive for greatness...

"People ask me a lot about my drive," he says. "I think it comes from, like, having a sexual addiction at a really young age.

Look at the drive that people have to get sex—to dress like this and get a haircut and be in the club in the freezing cold at 3 a.m., the places they go to pick up a girl. If you can focus the energy into something valuable, put that into work ethic..." - eOnline

2. Once a day for men, once a month for women, humans laugh at the face of fear because they become overcome by an even stronger impetus. Sex.

This is why people throw health, longevity, and fear of disease to the wind and fuck. I'm not going to bore you with the technical Daoist cosmological reasons why. But just know that if you want men to move, move, move, you inspire them to action from 5am-7am. If you want women to act, you inspire them within their three days of ovulation. Technically, if you just want to stay on the scientific and technologically measurable side, this is when testosterone is highest in both sexes. This is when they can overcome fear and you can get them to pitch a tent for your initiative.

3. I removed my most popular Youtube video because most people are freeloaders.

Yep. This is the third point. Most people are inactive, lethargic, self entitled, bloated mooches. They take, take, take, and curse you when you ask for help washing the dishes. And honestly, that is ok-fine. Because there are select few precious gems among this endanged species. The people who invite you to a feast then ask YOU what THEY can do for YOU! And thanks to Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, etc, you can find these people fast. How you find them is simple.

You take the lead. You give first. See who gives back. Give them more. See if they reciprocate. I'm doing this with sick people. I send everyone in search.twitter who say's "sore throat" a link to my "secret Daoist sore throat cure." These are the people who got that remedy. And these are the people who gave anything back. By my guestimate, that puts the doers at a 1:200 ratio. (ADDENDUM: OK, OK, I admit it, if they are hot chicks, I'll follow even if they never say thanks! http://twitter.com/journik/friends)

I find these people, I add them to my @journik account. Unremarkably, they are the same people who actually RT.

If you happen to come across the realization that you are a mooch, don't despair. You are doing two great things for us movers and shakers.

A. You are collecting backpressure ("kundalini" for you granola crunching, pretzel stretchy, unshaven, yoga types) that you can use when the time is right for you to finally get off your cellulite textured ass.

B. You make us look way more powerful than we really are.

4. People are driven by immediate ROI, immediate satisfaction. Even if it is a negative ROI

Doesn't make sense does it, when presented as a cold hard financial fact?

King James Bible
The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth [to feed himself]. -
theWORD

Why whould anyone invest in something that immediately gives them back less than they put in - hurting their immediate and long term net-worth? Please tell me the picture above left is worth a thousand words.

What I'm saying is that asking for an hour a week in support to support our children's futures is just not going to cut it. What you have to do is dangle a carrot in front of the work horse and make sure your load is firmly affixed to him. In rubber to the road terms, I got 244 new forum registrations and 235 Diggs to the moment by baiting and harnessing.Offer an immediate return on their financial or actual investment.

If this sounds at all manipulative, it is. And I have no problem with that. I got what I wanted, they got what they wanted, and the global community at-large benefits overall. We will all be ok with this so long as McDonalds doesn't offer me a seven figure consulting contract (muu huu hu hwah haaa)!

5. Timing

Even the most self seeking, short sighted, parasitic homosapien will, at some moment in time, only need so much as a straw to break his apathetic back. Wait for it. Wait for it...
